Primary function / Main output goals

 Gathers a thorough knowledge of the property market in the area in which they work, on behalf of buyers and sellers
 Liases with new clients – to discuss their property requirements
 Takes prospective buyers to suitable properties
 Appraises properties and gives valuations
 Advertises properties that are on their books
 Sits at ‘show houses’
 Is available to both parties (buyers and sellers) all the time

Personal attributes and/or competencies

Must be a peoples’ person
 A good communicator
 A good negotiator
 Vibrant and energetic
 Have good listening skills

 Be decisive and organised
 Able to handle rejection
 Willing to work unusual and sometimes long hours
 Prepared to work on weekends
 Able to live on an irregular commission-based salary

NQF in Real Estate Level 4 – SAQA Qualification 59097



Agent Commission is negotiable (50% – 70% of net commission)
